Andrew Carter
Current BSc (Hons) Forensic Computing and Security Student at Bournemouth University.
About
BSc (Hons) Forensic Computing and Security Student (2nd Year, Level 5) with experience of leading and managing projects, both in academic studies and through entrepreneurial activities.
I have a personal development portfolio called Andrew Carter Developments, for which I have a vision of making some open source software in order to encourage more people into the field of software development, by creating software libraries to make early development easier, and lower the barrier to entry into the industry. Through this portfolio, I am also developing some mobile apps, and am registered as a Nintendo Developer, to allow me to in the future potentially launch some games for Nintendo Switch.
Currently leading the development team of Stage Zero Games, a game development group created with university peers, with the vision of creating innovative mobile and PC games.
I also represent Bournemouth University as a Student Ambassador, in which I help the university run events like open days, campus tours, and more.

Projects
BU X ClickASnap Hackathon – March 2023
I participated in the Bournemouth University X ClickASnap Hackathon in March 2023 with a group of friends. We had a week to create a new feature idea for their website.
We created a reels feature, which would use an algorithm to suggest photos based on which photos the user has liked. This would also have allowed easily implementation into a mobile app. We used Replit to create a demo Web page, and so we could all seamlessly collaborate.
We won the Teamwork award for this project.
BU 35th Computing in Business Week – May 2023
I participated in the 35th Bournemouth University Computing in Business Week in May 2023. With a randomly selected group of peers, we were given a week to create a Resiliency Management System concept for business case study on “DWK plc”, a financial institution.
After the scenario document was released, we had a day to prepare our interview questions for DWK. Then we interviewed JP Morgan staff, who were acting as DWK employees for this scenario. During those 3 interviews, we were information gathering in order to generate a requirements document.
We presented our work to JP Morgan staff, university staff and other industry members.
